JORY BARNES

WELCOME

The journey of motherhood is full of questions, and -thanks to the internet- answers are just as copious.  I began my journey searching for schedules, various rash diagnosis, and treatments, developmental milestones, and timelines.  Google left me more confused and depressed than when I began.  Broken, I began to pray.  Ashamed I did not first turn to the all knowing God who would not always give me the answers I sought, but would provide a place of peace I so desperately needed.

I write this blog to offer a variety of advice from my experience, readings... and yes, googling.  But also, in hopes to point you to a grace giving God, who more than I, is waiting and ready to give you all you need.

"It doesn't happen all at once,' said the Skin Horse. 'You become. It takes a long time. That's why it doesn't happen often to people who break easily, or have sharp edges, or who have to be carefully kept. Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby. But these things don't matter at all, because once you are Real you can't be ugly, except to people who don't understand.”

Math Resources

Before becoming a stay at home mom I was a high school math teacher.  Here are some math activities (mostly free) for all ages!
